Bride laughing during the groom's speeches as captured by their documentary styled Pendrell Hall photographer Clive Blair

Feedback to Clive Blair, their Pendrell Hall Photographer:

“Thank you so much for the photos! They are absolutely beautiful. We are both so pleased with them! “

I’m sitting here in the cold February while preparing another set of photographs from a wedding, thinking how fortunate I am to be recommended as a Pendrell Hall photographer, and to work in the summer!

Hayley and Dan had the perfect day for their relaxed summer wedding at Pendrell Hall. And selecting their images for this post brought back a bit of warmth to my bones!

Why I Love being a Pendrell Hall Photographer

Even though I’m a Birmingham wedding photographer, I get to travel further a field often to cover weddings, and the Staffordshire wedding venue Pendrell Hall are kind enough to list me on their site a Pendrell Hall photographer. What makes this venue special? It has a beautiful lawned garden plus a bench under a big tree to sit in the shade drinking Pimms and Lemonade. Nearby  there are fields where you can watch animals passing by. There’s a secret garden area and now a Fire Pit Glade framed by hundreds of twinkle lights. Summer weddings at Pendrell Hall have it all.

Added to that, as a recommended photographer, I get to go a few times each year. Yeh!! But, as always I have to be careful I don’t start to relax too much, as I’m there to work.

Hayley and Dan’s Day

As usual, my documentary coverage started in the morning with the bridal preparations. It was lovely to see and record Hayley being presented with a “Kiss the Miss Goodbye” frame from her friends, so she can later put a photo in it and remember all her girlfriends.

You could tell they’re all close and will miss their girlie times together. (Although I’m sure they’ll still meet up now and then. 🙂 )

Hayley’s morning started off in the cottage at the back of Pendrell Hall, then everyone was able to walk the few minutes over the main building for the final stages. There’s even a lodge house in the grounds for the men to get ready in if they wish.

With nearby hotel for guests to stay, this layout makes Pendrell Hall a perfect all-in-once solution for anyone planing a Staffordshire wedding.

Obviously Hayley’s departure from the cottage had to be timed perfectly so as not to meet Dan or any of the boys, in case they decided to arrive early for the wedding!

All did go well from the morning till the end as you’ll see from my selection below.

I hope you enjoy looking at the photographs from this Pendrell Hall wedding as much as I enjoyed taking them, and get warmed by the sunny photos during this cold February month as we look forward to enjoying those good days again near at hand.

What Is a Documentary Wedding Photographer?

This is an often asked question. In simple terms it means being an observer and recorder of your wedding, with little interference. If you’re familiar with Star Trek, think of it in terms of The Temporal Prime Directive: To visit, to watch, not to interfer and to bring back a record.
