How I Shoot Weddings

Documentary wedding photography has taken me to some fantastic places in the UK and abroad, whilst allowing me to photograph an important stage in people’s lives. What a great privilege!! It’s on this page that I want to share that story with you when I show a few favourite images from these weddings. This is where I also post my latest news so you know what’s happening at Clive Blair Photography.

You’ll see the emphasis in my photography is not around posed group photos. Instead the solid emphasis is to be more of a fly on the wall, natural documentary photographer capturing those fleeting moments that tell the story of each wedding.

Why It Matters to You

Why do I believe that’s a better way of photographing your wedding? “Pinterest-inspired” weddings has become very popular these days. This is when a photographer is given a long list of images gleaned from Pinterest and being asked to re-create these images on a wedding. But instead of trying to recreate images from someone else’s wedding, I enter each wedding without any pre-conceived ideas of what I’m going to record. I simply look, observe, sometimes wait for the decisive moment. Then I capture a moment of YOUR history, creating YOUR unique images that no one else will ever, or can ever have. Which would you rather have?

I know which one sings to my heart! I hope these image will sing the same song for you too, inspiring you to enjoy the documentary, moment-driven style of wedding coverage.
