How I Shoot Weddings

Documentary wedding photography has taken me to some fantastic places in the UK and abroad, whilst allowing me to photograph an important stage in people’s lives. What a great privilege!! It’s on this page that I want to share that story with you when I show a few favourite images from these weddings. This is where I also post my latest news so you know what’s happening at Clive Blair Photography.

You’ll see the emphasis in my photography is not around posed group photos. Instead the solid emphasis is to be more of a fly on the wall, natural documentary photographer capturing those fleeting moments that tell the story of each wedding.

Why it Matters to You

“Pinterest-inspired” weddings has become very popular these days. This is when a photographer is given a long list of images gleaned from Pinterest and being asked to re-create these images on a wedding. But instead of trying to recreate images from someone else’s wedding, I’d rather capture the moments of YOUR history, creating YOUR unique images that no one else will ever, or can ever have. Which would you rather have?

I know which one sings to my heart! I hope these image will sing the same song for you too, inspiring you to enjoy the documentary, moment-driven style of wedding coverage.

Cheshire Winter Wedding | Rebecca and Ryan

You'd expect a winter wedding to be cold and damp, with poor lighting. But not this Mottram Hall wedding celebration. On one of the warmest winter's day Rebecca and Ryan tied the knot at Mottram Hall.

Forest of Arden Winter Wedding | Rebecca and James

It was a joy to be involved in this Anglo-Serbian winter wedding celebration at The Forest of Arden. There was so much energy from start to finish, which was characterised by drinking 1981 vintage plum brandy with plenty of dancing.

Bordesley Park Wedding Testimonial | Antonia and Dan

Read why Antonia wrote, when looking at a few sneak peek images from her wedding: "My heart stopped at so many and tears were shed! They are truly beautiful!"

Napton Windmill Wedding | Lucy and George

When Lucy and George told me were they having their wedding reception in the grounds of Lucy's parents home that had a windmill, to say I was excited, would be an understatement.

Digbeth Birmingham Wedding | Brogan and Ben

I had an enjoyable day as Brogan and Ben's The Bond Birmingham wedding photographer, especially as this was the first time visiting this unique venue on my doorstep.

Wool Barn Wedding | Anna and Sam

Anna and Sam's decision to hold their Wool Barn wedding in summer was the perfect choice because of the ample shady areas in the sumptuous garden area of the estate.
