Bride and Groom during golden hour at a Bordesley Park Farm wedding by Documentary wedding photographer Clive Blair

When Jamie booked me as his Bordesley Park Farm wedding photographer he mentioned how nervous he was and hated having his photograph taken or being the center of attention. So nervous was he, they’d not even planned to have a first dance, as it was too much attention on him and his bride. I reassured him that as a documentary wedding photographer, the majority of his photographs will be natural and unposed. That way he can relax enjoy the day and allow me to capture him at his best when he’s unaware of the camera.

You may remember he was super nervous during his pre-wedding shoot but felt really relaxed afterwards knowing he was in good hands.

I always love it when a bride or groom decides to send me an unsolicited thank-you note or message after their wedding to express how they feel about my images and my customer service. I’ve listed a few on my thank-you page, but thought I’d share the latest I’ve received from Jamie whose wedding a covered recently.

I’ll blog their wedding later, but for now here’s his lovely message he sent.

(Edit: I’ve since blogged their wedding here)

Clive,

Wow.

Words cannot express enough just how amazed we truly are with our wedding photos.
We knew from looking at your portfolio that you were the photographer for us; simply because of your style and sheer top quality of your images and your attention to detail…. and then after having our pre wedding shoot photos back we were so excited for you to capture our special day… and you didn’t disappoint!!

We’ve been waiting in suspense the last three weeks for these images to be ready because we knew they’d be great and on behalf of Lizzie and myself I can honestly say you’ve done a truly wonderful job.

We cannot thank you enough for these they are so beautiful and you have captured the whole vibe and atmosphere of the day perfectly.
We will always sing your praises and encourage as much as we can for people to hire you to do their wedding photography because you are simply one of the best around.

Thank you again.
You’ve helped make beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.

Jamie

What Is a Documentary Wedding Photographer?

This is an often asked question. In simple terms it means being an observer and recorder of your wedding, with little interference. If you’re familiar with Star Trek, think of it in terms of The Temporal Prime Directive: To visit, to watch, not to interfer and to bring back a record.
