Although I’m know as a wedding photographer, I occasionally get an opportunity to do some other social photography, eg baby photography too. David and Louise are two close friends and first it was a great honour to be asked to photograph their wedding back in 2012, and now it was a double honor and joy to be asked to do a pregnancy and post birth photo session for them to chart the birth of their first born son!

As they wanted the sex and name of their baby to be kept a secret up until the birth, I was sworn to secrecy, and I must say it wasn’t easy to even talk about the shoot in case something slipped. But somehow I managed it!baby photography by Clive Blair Photographybaby photography by Clive Blair Photographybaby photography by Clive Blair Photography baby photography by Clive Blair Photography baby photography by Clive Blair PhotographyDid Abel arrive on time?…No! He had ideas of his own and chose to make everyone wait until 22nd July before making an appearance. But it was worth the wait!

Here’s a few of him one month old.baby photography by Clive Blair Photographybaby photography by Clive Blair Photographybaby photography by Clive Blair Photography baby photography by Clive Blair Photography

What Is a Documentary Wedding Photographer?

This is an often asked question. In simple terms it means being an observer and recorder of your wedding, with little interference. If you’re familiar with Star Trek, think of it in terms of The Temporal Prime Directive: To visit, to watch, not to interfer and to bring back a record.
